So confused about USA travel

Okay. We have a house of Covid and my fuzzy head over this would suggest it's got me too.

In Scptland and there's no longer PCR testing unless eligible for the self isolation grant.

We are supposed to fly to USA at the end of July and I'm terrified we'll be the unfortunate ones who still come back positive as it will still be within the 90 days.

But I can't get proof of Covid recovery (once that time arrives) without a PCR test, but I also can't get a PCR?

USA requires a lateral flow - can we take one if still in the 90 days, or is it just PCR that picks up old Covid?

LFT would be less likely to pick up the old infection

An LFT won’t pick up an old infection after that long, you’ll be fine. We went last month and my ds had tested positive 20 days before and all was ok.

This is so reassuring, thank you! Just need the passports to arrive now...

If you have any old NHS tests why dont you use some say beginning of July!

You will be fine though.

LFT should be fine after 28 days (probably sooner), it's PCRs that can be positive for 90 days after. You just require a supervised LFT to get into USA.

Can you pay for a private PCR now to demonstrate recovery?
