How long are vaccinations "valid" in Italy?

Hoping someone can help as the information out there seems to be conflicting.

DS has had 2 vaccines but not a booster. We are planning to travel to Italy in the summer, which will be 8 months since his last vaccine. Some sources seem to say that this means it won't be considered valid as proof as vaccination as more than 6 months, and others seem to say it's fine up to 9 months. Can anyone point me at a definitive source?

(I know the actual answer is for him to have a booster but he was quite ill after the last one, and as he has exams coming up, he is a bit loathe to have it in case it affects him similarly).

I believe it's 270 days from last dose (whether that was last dose or booster)

Second dose only= 6 months.
Booster- no expiry. (Due to the fact that a 4th dose hasn't been mandated)
Because this caused issues as some countries had a 9 month validity on the second dose, the Italian govt added a clause saying that foreign tourists whose second dose had been administered longer ago than 180 days could take a test in order to access structures where a Covid pass was needed

I'm not sure what the situation is now regarding entry to Italy which I presume is what you mean, as last week restrictions were lifted except for public transport and some specific structures like hospitals.

You won't need the Green Pass once you're here, as it's all but abolished as of 1/5 but he may need a test to enter as his last vaccination was more than 6 months.
