How long until others in your household tested positive too?

Hi,
I tested positive on Monday and have been quite unwell since Tuesday. My husband and daughter are testing negative and have no symptoms as of yet. How many days did it take for others to test positive after the first one of you tested positive?

Thank you all!

Dh tested positive and noone else caught it. I didn't isolate from him but the 2 teenagers kept out his way a bit more

Whatsthestoryboringglory · 28/04/2022 19:19

My DP didn’t get it when I was positive, so it’s not a foregone conclusion.

I did move in to the spare room for ten days though.

hamdden12 · 28/04/2022 19:21

No one else in my household caught it from me. I wouldn't have known I had it myself if I didn't have to test for work.

Bobojangles · 28/04/2022 19:22

No one else for it when Dh did

TulipsGarden · 28/04/2022 19:23

Son first. Me two days later. DP eight days after me 🤦 We thought he'd escaped.

First time my son had it neither of us caught it, but we were very recently boosted.

TheCanyon · 28/04/2022 19:24

Dd13 was a sunday, then ds7 was thurs, dd7 and me fri, dh sunday. Dd11 escaped it. The twins had been in dds bedroom, we probably would be been ok otherwise as she's quite happy in her room by herself.

Watto1 · 28/04/2022 19:27

They never did. Shared a bed with dh throughout, but we faced outwards as if we’d had a row! Kept my distance from the dc as best I could. Dd picked it up at school 6 weeks later so nothing to do with me.

Scottsforsure281 · 28/04/2022 19:43

DH tested positive on the Tuesday, I felt a bit poorly on the Thursday and had a faint positive on the Friday, very strong positive on the Saturday. DS faint positive on the Sunday, strong on the Monday. All pretty poorly with it.

dicdicnurse · 28/04/2022 19:46

4 of us in the house, I was positive first, 8 days later DD2 was positive, 6 days after that DH was positive and 6 days after that DD1 got her positive. Whole bloody thing seemed to last an eternity!

wonkygorgeous · 28/04/2022 19:47

3.5 days almost to the hour, we were testing a few times a day as this person was vulnerable. I can pinpoint it as I infected someone who doesn't go out. They were ok .

SecondhandTable · 28/04/2022 19:47

My DP tested positive on second day of his symptoms, was mostly recovered by day 5 of symptoms and it was then that me and both the kids started symptoms.

Longdistance · 28/04/2022 19:50

Dd tested positive, no one else got it.

NancyJoan · 28/04/2022 19:52

I’ve got it at the moment. Five days after DH. Both DC fine so far.

familyissues12345 · 28/04/2022 20:47

DS1 got it first - no one else got it

10 months later - DS2 got it , no one else got it.

11 months later - I got it, 2 days later DH tested positive, then DS1 the following day.

5 months on - DH has just had it again, again no one else got it even though DH insisted on coughing all over the place Hmm

I find it really weird that it's been in the house 4 times, and three of those were limited to one person

Jules912 · 28/04/2022 21:11

DS 6 got it, no one else did.
2 months later DS did and DH 3 days later, me the day after him.

Ethelfromnumber73 · 28/04/2022 21:38

Daughter was ill with high temp, tested negative on day 1 positive day 2. I felt crap the day after (day 3) but was negative. Strong positive on day 4 (2 days after daughter). My husband felt crap from around this point but did not test positive until 3 days after me, so five days after daughter and six days after she first became unwell.

IllDoItButOnlyForTheAttention · 28/04/2022 22:20

DS on a Monday. Me next day. DD on Wednesday. DP no positive test till Saturday, but he'd felt unwell along with the rest of us.

madaboutrunning · 28/04/2022 22:40

I got symptoms 3 days after DH did, and a positive test 48 hours after he did.

BeeBeeBea · 28/04/2022 22:41

A week being DH testing positive and then me testing positive. We'd slept in the same bed throughout.

Viviennemary · 28/04/2022 22:43

Two days later. That's the norm I've heard from people who caught it from someone in their household.

Salamander91 · 28/04/2022 23:03

My eldest had it in december and no one else caught it. My youngest had it in March and we all tested positive one day after each other.

QueenOfThorns · 28/04/2022 23:12

I got symptoms the same day as DD, but managed to not test positive until 6 days after she did! DH didn’t get it at all until 3 weeks later, so he probably got it somewhere else.

Plumbear2 · 29/04/2022 06:33

8 days later.

Libertybear80 · 29/04/2022 06:36

DD just had it quite poorly. I was in close contact. DH and I no symptoms at all. We would have caught it by now. It's a week later.

Darhon · 29/04/2022 06:42

Delta wave - teen ds got it. Had a tiny bedroom so didn’t isolate him. No-one else got it. Dd who took most precautions got it off her friend 2 weeks later.

Omicron wave, teen dd got it. Didn’t isolate her, no-one else got it.
