Thought we’d get a card when we had it done last week but nano and also not eligible for covid pass…

A card isn't accepted as proof anyway as anyone could fake them. Presumably if you call 119 they can help?

MajorCarolDanvers · 26/04/2022 08:26

What do you need proof for?

Most countries only want proof aged 12 and above.

In case the country we are visiting in the summer changes it’s entry rules/new variant and this is now an entry requirement

Greece currently it's different rules for over 5s re vaccinations hence why I got my son vaccinated at the weekend- think Spain may be similar . Rumoured to change soon but just in case. I've only got the card but sure could ask gp for proof if needed

Footballsundays6777 · 27/04/2022 22:00

@fijicava I’d cross that bridge if they do… not something you need to worry about now. the vaccines have been avaliable in a lot of countries for that age group for a long while so I’d not worry

DH was told when he took ours that we could add them to our covid passes - I think it had to be done through the GP surgery?

NHS site about the Covid pass, however, says nothing about it, just that they can't get a pass if under 12. I'm hoping that they just haven't updated this yet.

fijicava · 27/04/2022 22:12

This is helpful, thank you. We didn’t get cards but maybe will get one on second jab? Yes it’s because other countries have been vaccing younger ones for a while that we decided to go ahead in case it becomes a requirement

Was just thinking the same. We’re off to South Africa where proof of vaccination is needed for anyone over 5 ( or neg Pcr) and no idea how to get this for our 6 year old.

superram · 27/04/2022 22:15

I’m assuming it’s the same as for 12 year olds. You apply online and they send you a letter within 7 days.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 27/04/2022 22:18

I’ve been wondering the same. However passes were not available until 2 jabs had been given for anyone and as it’s 3 months between jabs for children, it’s still going to be another 2 months before any children qualify (unless they have medical needed has them early). They probably haven’t sorted it yet. It was a couple of months after my teen was double jabbed that they allowed over 12s to access the NHS app.

fijicava · 27/04/2022 22:22

That’s helpful thanks. I checked my covid pass but there was no option to add a child. I also checked the link above (thank you) but only applicable for 12 and over at present. Hope you are right Cee, thanks!

Seems we should have been given a card —from the official leaflet. Will have to ask at second jab.

It still won't be accepted as proof. I am a vaccinator, if I felt like it I could bring home hundreds of cards & give them. Once they have had their second vaccine get in touch with 119.

ItsSnowJokes · 29/04/2022 08:54

They have changed the rules so you can get a vaccination record through 119 for over 5s.
