I feel like my recovery has ground to a halt. I've felt the same for days now, surely there should be a slight improvement each day? I'm CEV and feeling anxious that I'm going to get long covid. I've also had to stop all my medication until I'm feeling better. I just need to be patient don't I? All I'm managing to do is cook simple food and sleep.

I wasn't feeling better until about day 8/9. What you are experiencing sounds normal to me. Patience and rest are the most important things.

Moochio · 21/04/2022 19:41

I felt worse day 5 then got betterer about day 9.

Jules912 · 21/04/2022 19:41

Days 4-6 were the worst for me.

Horcruxe · 21/04/2022 19:44

It takes up to 3 weeks at least.

I think part of the problem is the isolation time was about 10 days, so people think they should be back to normal at the end of 10 days- nope it just means you're allowed to mingle with others and there is less chance of infecting others. It doesnt give any indication of recovery time.

Day 7 for me. Days 1and 2 I felt ‘off’ with a bit of a temperature. Days 3, 4, 5 a horrible head cold, snotty, cough, sore throat. Feeling better today and less congested. I’ve been having beroccas and vicks nasal spray with helps. Get well soon!

Yes this is so true. I'm nearing 10 weeks and still not right

I'm on day 5 and feel worse today than yesterday!!

Am so fed up, this was meant to be my annual leave.

So far I've had a fight temp and awful headache on days 1-2 and since then absolutely no energy to do anything.

I hate feeling like this.

Scandishores222 · 21/04/2022 19:49

Thanks everyone. I think because everyone else in my family was over it within a week I'm feeling impatient and a bit stressed. I'm also keen to he back in work next week but I cant see it happening. My whole body feels like its running on empty, I'm so physically exhausted, my ears are starting to feel blocked and my thigh muscles have felt cramped up all day, started sneezing lots now too.

Why have you had to stop your other medication, won't that make other things worse? (Obviously not looking for any of your private health details from you! but I'm CEV and would not be able to stop certain meds?)

TotoAnnihiliation · 21/04/2022 20:04

I'm on day 7, I feel like I've been punched in the nose. I'm pregnant and been told all that I can have is paracetamol. I feel completely wiped out.

undermilkjug · 21/04/2022 20:06

I felt awful and exhausted until day 10 and then it was almost like a light going on - I suddenly just had some energy again.

Scandishores222 · 21/04/2022 20:13

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles meds are immunosuppressants so I need to be off them to allow me to recover from the covid.

How stupid of me not to think of that! I think my brain is affected too! How are you feeling now?

Is anyone else having positive LFTs post day 5? (This makes a difference because of work restrictions in our house, otherwise I wouldn't be wasting tests!)

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 22/04/2022 08:02

FFS what is going on with the formatting on this new site!!! I don't know if you can see my reply @Scandishores222 (my app isn't working right) so I'll post it not as a quote and see if that helps!

Don't rush back to work, the best thing you can do is rest as long as possible. Even if you feel OK just take a couple of extra days, given you are CEV it is sesnible to prioritise your health.

I absolutely hate the government for lying and saying COVID is over.
