Hubby came back from a stag do Sunday and tested positive for Covid on the Monday. I developed a cough, muscle aches, temp and sore throat on the Tuesday. The cough is bloody awful, up having all night and chefs is really sore now. Thing is my lat flow is still negative, anyone else getting this??

Worth nothing I had Covid over New Years, I got a positive with that on day 1, never developed a cough with that one.

Try testing in afternoon, peak viral shedding day 10…. Same things happened to me and a bunch of others, very odd. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Are you swabbing throat as well as nose? Often shows up faster in throat. DD had awful sore throat, dreadful cough and really unwell a couple of weeks ago and it was actually a throat infection so there are definitely other things than covid doing the rounds.

I am wondering this but it’s just the timing of it and the fact I have exact same symptoms as hubby, plus we hadn’t really gone anywhere the week before other than the shops where I was masked so I can’t work it out. It’s so strange.

I've had the same symptoms and tested negative for 7 days . A friend of mine has told me he has the same . It's less than a month since he had Covid so I'm assuming that there is another virus circulating and we both have it .

My dh tested positive on Tuesday after a couple of days feeling grotty, and I got symptoms then too. Mine are the same as his - mild and including odd ache behind the eyes - so I am sure I have it but still lfd-negative. LFDs do miss some infections even with daily testing I think, though are good at picking up those that are likely to be infectious (risk to others).

DS had what I assumed was covid a fortnight ago. He's done at least seven throat and nose LFT's in that time, all negative. All of household negative too and he still has a lingering cough.
Something else is doing the rounds.

13 year old ds has horrendous cough, sore throat, but also generally quite unwell. High temperatures (39.5 right now). He’s been like this for 6 days now, but lateral flows are all negative. Temp goes down with paracetamol then up again a few hours later. No appetite whatsoever.
Could be Covid or could be any other random virus.

There is quite a bit of flu around at the moment, as well as covid.
