Oh boy do I feel rough, my skin hurts, my bones ache, I'm freezing cold. Don't know why I'm posting really,it feels strange to finally have it after 2 years of dodging it. I'm CEV so I'm wondering if the hospital will phone today, I've just logged my result

If anyone else has just tested positive and wants some company over the next few days feel free to post on here.

I know several people who have got or had covid recently. All vaccinated. One has it for the 4th time. It does seem to be a very short illness now though. 2 or 3 days, so I hope you will be over it soon.

Get well soon, OP. It can be a rough ride, but plenty of fluids, rest and regular paracetamol for the aches should smoothe the passage. We've been through 7 rounds of it at my house so I sympathise. When you near the other end, do take care to rest, and then rest some more; don't be tempted to get too active too soon.

Thankyou both. I'm lucky that DS is in his teens so doesn't need me running around after him, I'll be sure to rest as much as possible.

Hello OP … sympathies … I too am CEV and tested positive for covid yesterday morning. Started feeling rough Monday night … so now I have stage 4 cancer; a v rare blood disease and covid - hooray! I’m getting anti viral drip from hospital tomorrow so hopefully you’ll get something similar too. I can’t tell what’s my other diseases and what’s covid mostly but what is definitely covid is just like having a bad cold so far. I had sore throat; then tired; temperature & hot and cold; now I’m up at this time just full of snot! Snot snot snot snot. My DP had it first and he’s also got it like a cold - he had a big nap on day 2 and has been fine to drive me to hospital for e.g. since. He’s got more of a cough than I have. Hopefully yours won’t be too bad OP. Flowers

So sorry to hear you're going through so much mowly77 I'm glad your DH is OK so that he can help. My DH tested positive a couple of days ago (I've lost track!) It's wiped him out but hopefully he start to improve soon. Best of luck with the infusion.

Really hope it passes quickly OP. I felt like that on day one and then felt fine so I’m really hoping you have a similar experience xx

thedisappearedones · 15/04/2022 09:13

I'm on day 5 OP and it's just like a bad cold now. Get better soon.

If you are CEV are you eligible for antiviral treatment?

If so, it even think you might be, don't wait for the medical team to call you as you need the treatment before you become too ill.

I called my GP but as it's a liking weekend you may be better calling the covid helpline number if it's still going, otherwise 111.
Make sure your positive test is recorded and remind them about the antiviral treatment. Try and get the ball rolling if you can. My GP was able to call the hospital department for me and I was called in that same day ti receive an antiviral infusion.

I believe it really helped.

Did you get your letter and test kit for CEV people OP? I think there is a number on there that you have to ring to get the treatment.
Having said that, a friend's husband ( also CEV) waited so long for them to get back to him he had recovered. He said it was just like a bad cold for a couple of days.

Can I join please? But if support for one another going through this at the moment.
I tested positive on Thursday. Had a sore throat at the start of the week but didn't think anything of it.
But congested today but feel fine no fever and able to carry on with my daily chores. Really hope it stays this way I'm terrified of going downhill 😬

Scandishores222 · 18/04/2022 05:46

purplemonkey654 you sound like you're doing well.

I've had a really rough few days, bed bound and every symptoms under the sun, this is the weirdest virus I've ever had. Thankfully my oxygen levels are fine. A medic is phoning me again today, today is the last day for me to start the oral anti viral but even though I've felt really unwell I don't think I need them (they go off oxygen levels and temp). I could still have the antiviral injections after that if things went south. They seem reluctant to just dish them out in case.
