Period stopped after covid, still fertile?

I've had a missed period since getting covid last month. Apparently this is fairly common, with some women's periods stopping for several months due to covid. According to google, it's possible to still conceive when your periods have stopped (although idk how, doesnt the egg need a lining to implant in? If you do have a lining, doesnt it "go off" if it's not replaced after a month?)

My question is, do i still need to use condoms while my period has stopped if they stopped cos of covid? Do you know anyone who conceived while her periods were awol?

I wouldve thought the common sense answer was no, cos your periods have stopped, but if that's true then why do they say covid absolutely does not affect fertility?? Hmm so confused!

I'd say, yes, still use condoms as your periods should not be stopped indefinitely and might come well back suddenly, in which case you could find out suddenly that you are indeed fertile and possibly get pregnant if not protected?

that should read "might well come back" Grin

You do need to use condoms as you don't know when you will ovulate next.Ovulation happens 2 weeks before your period and having missed or delayed a period due to being ill you are in a state of not knowing about your cycle until you menstruate again by which time you will have already ovulated.Do take precautions.

Blush i feel a bit silly, i basically forgot about ovulation haha. Got confused cos i was reading about women who fell pregnant without a period & was thinking no period = nowhere for baby to go = no protection required. Dodged a bullet! Grin Thanks ladies.
