Tasteslikeregret · 11/04/2022 21:57

Not if I hadn’t had 2 negative tests, no.

imeanwhy · 11/04/2022 21:59

I wouldn't go without a negative test but chances are you ll have one by then! Many people test negative before that

loobylou10 · 11/04/2022 22:00

Yes I would. Day 11 if going by start of symptoms - no need for a negative test after 10 days.

worriedatthistime · 11/04/2022 22:09

Have had negative test day 6 , hoping for another negative tomorrow

Notdoingthis · 11/04/2022 22:40

Yes

Whitegrenache · 11/04/2022 22:43

jesus are people still testing? when does it all
end?!

jesus are people still testing? when does it all end?!
How does what other people do affect you?
Mindymomo · 12/04/2022 07:05

We went to a birthday party recently where 3 were on day 6 after getting negative tests days 5 and 6. Just a warning about drinking alcohol after having covid, one glass of wine and I felt awful, head banging, so be careful.

fruitorveg · 12/04/2022 07:07

Yes I would go.
I thought we weren't testing any more. Where are you getting tests from

ApolloandDaphne · 12/04/2022 07:08

Yes. By all the previous standards that is when you are released from isolation anyway.

AlwaysFireFighting · 12/04/2022 07:11

Yes, I would.

TulipsGarden · 12/04/2022 07:14

Boots? On the High Street? They're not exactly contraband 🙄

Anyway, yes OP I would go with negative tests. You're lucky being negative on day 6!

grafittiartist · 12/04/2022 07:29

Same dilemma here too- day 10. But I really don't feel great yet, so even with 2 negatives I may not go.

Jules912 · 12/04/2022 07:39

I agonised about doing an indoor thing on day 10 from test, which was 11 days from symptoms. In the end I went and everyone at my table had recently had Covid anyway

worriedatthistime · 12/04/2022 07:40

@fruitorveg I still had free ones left but you can buy
But we had to test regularly for work etc so had a couple boxes left.
I still tested as we wanted to know , i keep reading online cases have gone down, but how they can say that when we are not testing I don't know
I know loads who have avoided it the whole time but have got it in the last two weeks

Yes especially if you’ve already had a negative test

I only wouldn’t if I knew there were going to be people there who knew I’d had it and were going to be funny with me 🙄

Cornettoninja · 12/04/2022 07:52

I keep reading online cases have gone down, but how they can say that when we are not testing I don't know

There’s still testing and surveillance, it’s not as accurate but it’s enough to identify up and down trends. There’s the ONS survey (they test randomly throughout the population), the ZOE study which asks people to record their symptoms and test results if they can, there’s still regular testing in hospitals and care homes, and then we have hospital attendance/admittance rates as well as the fatality rates. All of those mean we can extrapolate current infection levels. Rates are some of the highest we’ve seen in the pandemic but there is evidence of a decline.

TheGlitterati · 12/04/2022 11:56

Yes. You’ve done your 10 day isolation.

CorsicaDreaming · 13/04/2022 09:35

@Whitegrenache

With attitudes like yours it will literally never end

Have you actually been living in a bubble for the last two years?

itsgettingweird · 13/04/2022 09:47

We have to return to school now on day 6 regardless of tests. In fact we don't even get tests now to know!!

I guess it depends on your personal thoughts but if you are symptom free I'd go.

Indoctro · 13/04/2022 10:00

Yes and I wouldn't be testing now as unless you buy them we can't get hold of them

BogRollBOGOF · 13/04/2022 11:17

If ONS contacts me again, I'd be prepared to participate now. Last year when I had nothing to gain and was potentially faced with being trapped in the house with my family for 14 days, the letters were ripped up and promptly put in the recycling bin. I'm not obliged to make huge sacrifices as thanks for providing data now.

The evidence was that we hit the peak at the end of March just before the rules changed and affected testing rates.

MangyInseam · 13/04/2022 17:21

Yes.

I don't think testing is relevant after you've had it. I'm not in the UK but we have been told not to test for several months after having covid as there is a good chance we could test positive due to the previous infection within that window.

Bailey48 · 13/04/2022 19:46

I had symptoms Saturday and only tested positive last night I am going to an event on Saturday ... my child and partner tested positive on Friday and I was the same as them maybe was going the test wrong but I am going call me selfish
