Think DS has covid, when should I worry?

I think 11YO DS may have Covid. He was sat next to a positive case last week and woke up this morning burning hot with a terrible head ache. Very faimt positive on lat flow but going to test again tomorrow to be sure.
His temp is 38.8 and he feels completely rotten. When do I worry and what would the process be if he needs to go to A&E with covid symptoms? We don't drive. It's his temp I'm really worried about I can count the times he's had a fever on one hand.

Thanks all for the reassurance. DS definitely has Covid, the line is dark and came up straight away this morning. I'm gutted, we've managed to avoid it for such a long time Sad. I'm CV too so a bit worried about catching it, though I won't isolate from DS. His temperature is lower today though.
I didn’t isolate from DD when she had covid but I did wear an FFP2 face mask when I was in the room with her and we didn’t let her in some rooms so they were “covid free”. Plus windows open. She had a temp of 40 for a couple of days and couldn’t really stand up. She bounced back really quickly so try not to worry too much just keep an eye on him.

I wouldn't worry too much but obviously keep an eye on things. My youngest had a temp of 40 a couple of nights with covid but 111 just said as long as coming down with calpol was fine.

My DS (age 6) faint line this morning. Started last night with a temperature and said he had a headache. He was shivering at bedtime. Temp has stayed around 38 but he’s drank plenty. I’ve alternated calpol and ibuprofen and made sure he’s drank lots and dressed him in shorts and a t shirt. I’m hoping tomorrow he’s going to be a lot brighter.
