How Long Positive LF

I was day 9 yesterday and depressingly still a positive LF. I spoke to my GP who said stop testing as they can remain positive for a while. But out of interest how long have people here been testing until a negative LF?

I tested negative on day 15 (had to keep testing for work).

Ds was still positive on day 10 the first time but didn't test after that.

SummerWillow · 02/04/2022 15:39

Day 15?! My DD goes to a special school with vulnerable pupils and they require the whole family to have 2 negative tests before she can go back. Still positive here on day 9. Could be a while yet then 😞

Jules912 · 02/04/2022 18:09

I got a faint positive on day 15, haven't tested since as I have no reason to. Though would like to know the answer to this as I test to see vulnerable relatives and don't know when to start testing again and consider a positive a new infection.

Onegingerhead · 02/04/2022 18:29

I got a negative on day 6. Husbands’ was even earlier, day 4

First time round in Nov 9 days. This time was only 4 days.

PiratePetespajamas · 02/04/2022 19:01

Day 11. DS day 5. Dd day 12.

sanityisamyth · 02/04/2022 19:03

DS is on day 6 now. Very faint positive. Definitely getting paler through the week. He's had no symptoms though apart from a headache and being sick on Sunday.

Day 14 here and still positive; not even faint 😩

NippyWoowoo · 03/04/2022 12:30

I still had a faint positive on day 10 but resumed work/life etc. Didn't test again until day 14 and by then I was negative.

TulipVictory · 03/04/2022 14:40

Are we still positive because our immune systems are weaker? 😏

lollipoprainbow · 03/04/2022 14:48

What does a faint positive line mean, I had this initially after my first symptoms on tuesday, and the line has been faint ever since.

Saladd0dger · 03/04/2022 14:51

I tested positive Thursday and negative today Hmm

Mrsjayy · 03/04/2022 14:54

I tested positive on day 10 it was really faint but there. I didn't think you tested after isolation and could just resume life ?

dicdicnurse · 03/04/2022 15:00

I didn't get a negative until day 20 (couldn't return to work until I had a negative), but I didn't get a positive LFT until day 10, confirmed covid with pcr initially.
DD's both had negatives on days 8&9. DH stopped testing on day 10.

Mrsjayy · 03/04/2022 15:03

My friends daughter couldn't return to work until a negative I think she was day 15 . But my own daughter different sector could return to work after her day 10, Confused

Watsername · 03/04/2022 15:26

Positive up to day 8, then negative on day 9. Positive again on day 10. Then didn’t test day 11 as allowed out. Tested day 12 as seeing vulnerable people and was negative again.

I returned to work after isolating with a faint negative, no one that I worked with got it
sanityisamyth · 04/04/2022 10:11

How can you have a faint negative? It's either positive or negative. Even a faint line is positive!

EmilyEmmabob · 04/04/2022 10:28

Finally a negative on day 12. I had a nix of dark and faint lines the whole time, I don't think the strength of the line means anything.

Despite having a negative test I still feel very poorly and I'm not well enough for work.

emmathedilemma · 04/04/2022 11:09

Days 6, 7 and 8 were very positive for me, day 10 was faintly positive, similar to the first positive test I got. I haven't tested after that as the advice here is not to do routine testing after you've done the ones to potentially "escape" quarantine early.

Stanleystuck · 04/04/2022 11:14

Mine was positive up to day 10 and then I stopped testing. I'm.day 14 now and still feel like I have it

RiojaRose · 04/04/2022 11:47

I’m on day 10 today and got a clear positive. Still feel like shit too.

Benjispruce4 · 04/04/2022 12:50

It obvious depends how many days in you test. You could have had the virus days and only test positive on day 5 so get an earlier negative than those that test positive on day 1.

Benjispruce4 · 04/04/2022 12:51

I have been sneezing like crazy and nose like a tap since yesterday. Test is negative. My colleague has just tested positive with same symptoms. Does this sound like omicron? I’m a Covid virgin.

TypicaIMe · 04/04/2022 16:45

I was still positive on day 20. Negative next day, positive again the day after.

My symptoms seem to have gone up a gear again today, over three weeks since my first positive test and four weeks since I started feeling unwell. Tight chest, cough, aches... I'm beginning to think I'll never be free of it.
