Nose bleed after swab every time!

Just wondering if this is quite common or whether I need to mention it to my gp.

My dH had covid a few weeks ago so I started doing lfts every day, sometimes twice a day. I have a bit of health anxiety so every time I had a headache or felt a bit off, I'd do a test. Since the first few times, I have started to get blood on the swab every time I do them up my nose. I don't get a proper nose bleed but obviously the blood means the test is invalidated.

How common do you think it is? Have I just damaged the sensitive part up my nose so it's not healing due to regular swabbing?? Or could it need looking into. Dr Google isn't really throwing up anything about this.

Thanks.

I think you need to have a break from the swabbing or do your throat instead.

I had this the few times I had to do daily tests, I find alternating nostrils helps. Also I know they say blood invalidates it but my results have always been accurate despite it, plenty of negatives and when I repeated my first positive using the other (blood free) nostril it still came up positive albeit fainter.

Calm down on the swabbing and if you really must do your throat.

You really need to focus on not testing constantly. Twice a day is too much testing.
