Eye pain and Covid anyone?

Day 4 of Covid ( vaccinated) and I have a very intense burning pain in my right eyeball and eye socket area and at the top of one nostril. I assume sinus related but I don't know and it's very painful. Not affected by painkillers either.

It feels like I've had a load of chlorinated swimming water up my nose and is making my eye burn and intermittently water. I also think the eyelid is dropping ever so slightly

Is this something I need to get checked out or just part of Covid?

I had almost the same thing! My eye was so bloodshot and painful. The doctor gave me antibiotics and said she’d seen lots of it in covid patients. BTW, I wasn’t unwell in any other way!!!

Myself and my dd both had pain in our eyes during covid, like you describe as though been in chlorinated water. That having been said, if its too painful to bear then call 111 and see if there is anything you can take /do to alleviate it.

@Soontobe60 did they work? I assume it was a sinus infection? I have been quite unwell and have had many symptoms over the last few days but this one is killing me!

My 10 year old has covid at the moment and at one point today she was actually screaming in pain as her eyes were hurting.
She never complains when she’s ill so this shocked me. Apparently quite a common symptom.

Thanks. It's becoming unbearable at times and seems worse when I'm upright or standing. Think I'll see how it is tomorrow and call 111
