Is there any benefit in rinsing nose / sinuses with saline?

I’ve read that using a saline nasal spray can help to reduce the length of time you test positive for. Has anyone tried this and was it successful at reducing the severity and length of illness?

I use sterimar which is sterile saline in an aerosol from the chemist. It does really help to wash sinuses clean.

Not sure about impact on testing positive but I used LOTS of sterimar when I had covid and I really believe it helped clear my sinuses and my throat - I could barely breathe on day 1 and was fine by day 3!

I have sterimar here and have been using it as my sinuses are burning. I was hoping it would help to clear the virus quicker 🤞

The virus will do what the virus does.

Remember that the yellow stuff that comes out of the sinuses is the white blood cells which were fighting the virus and not the virus itself.

That said, the feeling after I load up the sinuses with saline spray in the morning and all the yellow stuff starts moving and coming out... it feels so good.

I used to use Sterimar but more recently switched to a Beconase version I noticed in Tesco. It tastes a bit saltier and can feel a little burny for a few moments, but it clears those sinuses much better.

I used sterimar as well - the orange one with copper is super for congestion. Didn't help with shortening the testing positive bit - day 9 was the first day I was negative.

I use sterimar frequently because of allergies. I'm still testing positive on day 11, though have felt fine for a couple of days.
