Covid in early pregnancy

Amipreg1 · 29/03/2022 12:27

I'm just over 4 weeks pregnant and have just tested positive for covid this morning.

Has anyone been in the same situation? Was everything OK?

Spoke to gp this morning and he didn't seem too concerned. I'm not feeling too bad at the moment but I'm a worrier!

I'm triple jabbed... Hopefully I'll be fine in a few days.

Sending solidarity - I'm 26 weeks but still know it's a nerve wracking time in early pregnancy. I've been started on blood thinning injections but think that's due to my BMI.

Not been in that situation however try not to worry. My understanding when I was pregnant was that the risk of having covid in pregnancy comes in later trimesters when your bump is bigger and pushing into your lungs so if your breathing suffered from covid it would be made worse by the lungs already being squashed. Being so early in pregnancy this wouldn’t be an issue. Hope you are feeling ok, I have just had covid as well as my four month old baby and we are ok after flu like symptoms x

11 weeks and just recovered from covid a couple of weeks ago. Anxiously waiting for my 12 week scan a week on Friday to check all ok. One benefit of the covid was I lost my smell and taste and this massively helped with nausea. But now obviously the worry sets in that symptoms have gone and maybe something is wrong. Will keep you posted and let you know how my scan goes next week !

Not quite what you asked but I'm 32 weeks and I've had covid in the last couple of weeks. As above, the third trimester is known to be the most risky time, but I got away with a sore throat for a couple of days followed by a few days of coughing. Back to full health now. The jabs are so important. Hope you're back to full strength ASAP!

Thank you all. I woke up this morning feeling a bit more rough but nothing awful thankfully, hoping I'm over the worst of it as I seem to be slightly better this evening. Will see how I go over the next few days!
