Covid in small babies - any experience ?

Worried mum to 6 week old and 5 year old girls. My 5 year old had Covid currently and is feeling really unwell with cold symptoms and a high temp. Obviously lots of cuddles and kisses probably mean that us catching it too is likely.

We have kept the girls apart as much as we can under one roof but I am seriously worried about the baby catching Covid and being ill with a high temperature- especially when too small to have calpol according to the guidance.

Has anyone had a small baby / newborn with Covid and can give either some reassurance or practical advice ?

Thank you Smile

I’m in a similar situation now OP.
4 year old caught it at nursery, gave it to our 6 week old and me a week ago. Husband testing negative.
I’m feeling pretty rubbish but 6 week old had a bit of a stuffy nose, eating a bit less and sleeping more. Seems to be ok overall though. No fever. I think for as long as the baby isn’t dehydrated and so on you’re ok. From what I’ve read they seem to cope with covid pretty well.
Hope you all recover well.
