COVID and heavy period

Hi. A lot has been posted previously about period issues after the jabs, but has anyone had period issues due to COVID itself? I have it for the second time now. First time was two years ago and it was full blown awful covid including breathing issues, altered taste/smell etc, but I don’t recall any changes to my period.
This time I have had a week of what felt like tonsilitis but strong positive LFT. No typical covid symptoms. Awaiting results of PCR. However, my periods are rather predictable at the moment..every 26-28 days, heavy for two days then light.
This one started very light and brown rather than red, on day 26, and was like that for two days. Now it is suddenly dark red, watery and gushing. This isn’t normal for me at all. It’s making me feel rather light headed.
Anyone else experience this sort of thing?

When I got actual covid. My period after was awful. Mine are normally simlar to yours first day light 2nd heavy red flow. 3rd day pretty light again by day 4/5 it's stopped. But after covid it was almost like a watery red /brown and carried on for 3/4 weeks. They have not been right since. They are now heavy but watery red . For the full week .

So strange how it can affect our cycles and flow. I don’t remember this issue with any other illness (flu etc) but I guess it may not have exactly coincided before either.

I don't know if it is directly due to Covid but mine has been very heavy and erm solid after Covid which is normally isn't. So possibly. Nothing seems quite right tbh.

Came here to search for this very thing. Currently have covid for the first time and the most ridiculously gushing/flooding heavy period. On day 7 of the sodding period.

i posted about this over the weekend.

Tested positive last Sat, got my period, Covid did nothing but my period has been horrendous! I honestly thought I might have to call a doctor at one point because the bleeding was non stop!

I was actually free of the virus and tested negative from Tuesday, but I still have my period and it’s still heavy but not quite as bad.

I am annoyingly still testing positive for covid AND still bleeding

An update from me.
So the period I had right after Covid was full on heavy bright/dark red for about 4 or 5 days and then just suddenly stopped. No clots, no spotting, no tailing of. Went from heavy to nothing.
I have just had my first period since then and it was much more “normal” to begin with (not very heavy, no gushing, dark red, a bit clotty) and lasted 4 days...however it then turned into dark brown spotting and I still have this a week later. I never usually have this longer than a day or two. So 10 days since my period started and I’m still spotting. So odd!

I started my period the same day as testing positive. It was the heaviest flow I've ever had, flooding and leaking with bad cramps. Next period was back to normal.

Just wanted to contribute for anyone's future reference.

I had covid 2 cycles ago - suffered the average amount with covid, ie was flu like ill for about a week and then had some fatigue for another few weeks. I'm not vaccinated.

The first period I had after covid came right on time cycle wise, but it was really really heavy and very painful, in a different sort of way. More nausea too. The discomfort was higher up in my torso, not 'womb' area at all, more like strange version of indigestion.

I've just got my next period, it was 10 days later than expected which is quite unusal for me, normally very regular, though I did have a MC last year so had a few longer cycles since but it had gone back to regular.

This period is normal flow & cramp wise but day 3 and I'm getting the nausea and indigestion again.

And the fatigue has been worse with both periods since covid.
