Shortness of breath but normal oxygen levels

Anyone else get this?

I'm on day 3 or 4 and I feel short of breath but my monitor is saying 97 or 98%.
I got my monitor from Argos and its definitely working because I can make the number higher by over breathing and lower by holding my breath.

It's a horrible feeling, makes me feel anxious.

I've got acid reflux and wondering if that's making it feel worse?
I also do that anxiety thing when you feel like your breathing isn't automatic anymore if you know what I mean.

Can't wait to feel normal again.

Not sure but bumping for you.

Either way - breathe from your abdomen to reduce anxiety… try a free month of the Calm app, really helped me .

I don’t have any advise but I’m the same!
Breathing from the abdomen and through pursed lips has helped me avoid panicking. I’ve just started using CBD oil as well to help me relax.
I know it’s been a few days since your post, how are you feeling now and did you find anything that helped?
I hope you feel better soon xx

I've been breathless since about January and went to hospital few weeks ago with symptoms of dvt, turns out I don't have a blood clot but because I was breathless the asked me to do a 6 minute walk up and down the corridor wearing the finger oximeter. The nurse looked at me puffing and panting and at the oximeter and she said my oxygen was normal but she thought it was my heart causing the breathlessness. I also had a CT scan on my lungs and they're fine. The doctor listened to my heart and he said he thought he could hear a heart murmur. So I'm waiting for appointments to sort those issues out but maybe your breathlessness is heart related like mine rather than lung related.

It’s very common for a respiratory infection to make you feel breathless. Try not to worry too much. I’ve got Covid too and can definitely tell it’s affected me, I’m puffed out when I walk up the stairs. But I remember having the same with a non-Covid chest bug too! That soon passed. As long as your SATS are ok, you’ll be fine Smile

Some one I know was finding it really difficult to walk as she was so out of breath since Covid at Christmas. I saw her again recently and she seemed much better since she had been put on a steroid inhaler. It gives me hope that there are treatments that work .
