Covid and Carpet fitters!

This post is completely hypothetical, I'm just having a panic!
So today we completely emptied mine and my youngest sons bedroom and filled my eldest sons room with our stuff. It's honestly such a bomb site as it always is when decorating! We are all going to be sleeping on the floor as beds are dismantled in one room until the carpet is fitted in a couple days....
So we've been a close contact of someone who has Covid and I'm panicking. If someone had Covid would the carpet fitters still come round? Would they come round if we left the property? (Garden, cat etc).
Has anyone actually been in this situation?
I know none of you can tel me what they would do, but I just wondered what happens if you're having works done with Covid in current times.

Please no sarcastic or nasty responses because after a day of decorating I cba with it 😅🙈

I think it depends on the carpet fitters and like you said if you can limit any risks.

Hopefully you might not test positive. If you do I would just be honest with the fitters / shop. Say you would be willing to leave all windows open and leave the house etc.

Fingers crossed you don’t turn positive!

It depends. I'd you'd had lunch with a friend who later turned out to be positive then yes they'd still come. Someone who lived in the house, no they wouldn't.

Definitely be honest with the carpet fitters and let them make the decision whether to come and fit or not. It also gives them the opportunity to wear masks etc if they're happy to come. Very unfair to have people in your home if there's any likelihood of covid being in the house, without warning them.

We had work done when we had covid, they were told and happy to come.

British gas however, wouldn’t come for 3 weeks after!!!

My husband is a carpet fitter, he has been and done carpets when warned if the people are out the house, just fair to let them know in advance so they can make a decision, he wears a mask when fitting and the windows are opened

Thank you for all your replies! We were all absolutely fine today so it was fitted and I love it :)
Will bare this in mind though when we get the next room done in a couple weeks if anyone is unwell !
