Symptons a month post covid???

I had covid around early feb. One of my major symptons was a dry tickly cough so post covid i was still suffering with coughing fits on/off. However this time round im really anxious. Started having coughing fit on sat and its never eased up. I keep getting titghtness of chest randomly and this cough is a chesty one. I can feel a rattle in my chest when i cough and when i breath in im slightly wheezy. My cough sounds like bronchitis. Whenever I laugh or take a deep breath in it makes me wheeze and cough. When I lie down I hear a popping noise in my chest when i breath in. I am well in myself otherwise. Im just confused as to how this has occured and got worse a month later from covid. I know long covid is a thing but didnt think it could worsen. Im 25 and generally healthy but its like i've got something in my chest i cant shift and my voice has become deep.

I have a baby to look after and am stressing out Confused

Please contact 111 if you're concerned. It could be related to covid or something else entirely.

If it helps I have the same thing. I had Covid mid January and I can't stop coughing. My chest hurts but no shortness of breath

gingerhills · 23/03/2022 08:53

OP, I am the same. Covid Mid-Feb. Now coughing up green phlegm and short of breath just climbing the stairs. I usually do four bootcamps a week. Haven't done any for ages. Don't know if it's a cold going around or long Covid but it is exhausting.

Do you have an inhaler? Might be worth asking for one.

Pinkorchid23 · 23/03/2022 09:14

Hi all got a drs appointment now hoping they will prescribe me an inhaler or anitbotics

Sounds like a chest infection - may or may not be connected to covid. Hope your GP could help?

My GP told me it was absolutely normal 1 month in to still be having symptoms. They might be able to give you antibiotics. After 3 months they start looking at long covid unless your symptoms are particular severe.

So up to three months of post-viral symptoms isn't classified as Long covid? It's just recovery and normal? Not sure if this is good news or bad.
