If you're still testing now, will you continue from 1st April when charges come in?

I do have another thread but this came up too so thought I'd start another.

If you test now on lfts, will you continue to purchase them from 1st April or are you only continuing to do so whilst they are free and what will you do when they no longer are?

I have been stocking up on lfts so I can continue to test before seeing my CEV mum. When they run out I will pay for tests as I want to keep her safe.

DSs will stop testing twice a week for school. However, we will buy and test before visiting friends/relations.

Frosty1000 · 22/03/2022 14:20

I'm never testing again, ever.

We've just all had it, I'm on day 9 so I won't test again and after DH has done all his as he's only on day 4, he probably won't. Definitely won't test ds.

I'm going to go back to how I would treat an illness in 2019/2020 pre pandemic. If we're ill, we're ill and we'll stay home if we can't work/school/go out.

I will buy some when run out I’ve got 4 tests left at moment. Use if feel unwell so not expose others. So maybe one test a month and only me so not going break the bank. But if have lots kids and they always sick going cost loads.

MarshaBradyo · 22/03/2022 14:27

No I don’t think I will. If I’m ill I’ll stay home until feeling better.

Hard to know for sure until then though, I haven’t had a reason to test for so long.

I'll have to keep testing because I'm on immunosuppressant drugs for rheumatoid arthritis, and I need to be sure I'm not positive when I inject them.

I'm assuming LFTs will still be free for me but I notice the govt website now says they'll only be free if you're eligible for antivirals. Up until two weeks ago, I was - but when I was assessed after testing possible ten days ago, I was told the rules have recently changed and I no longer am.

If I can't test, I can't take my medication. And I can't afford to test twice weekly if I have to pay, so I guess I'll just have to come off my meds and hope for the best.
