2 week old baby most likely has covid 😢

I’ve tested positive for covid, I feel quite poorly, I have a 2 week old baby he’s also showing symptoms, coughing/sneezing/congested, I’ve not tested him but I’m assuming it’s also covid 😢 I’m now beside myself with worry!
Has anyone else’s newborn had it and been ok? I’ve tried to search but i can only find stories about older babies.
Thanks

Our 6 week old did and had the same symptoms you described. She ended up with a high temp but it came down and she was okay after a couple of days

Try not to worry too much. They are a lot stronger than you think. Thankfully covid doesn’t seem to affect babies and kids as much as some adults. I’m a mum of four and my two year old and six month old got covid. They had a temperature and were miserable for two or three days then they were fine. Trust your own instincts. Phone 111 if you need to at any time. I look for things like are they still feeding ok. If you feel your baby’s struggling don’t hesitate to get medical advice. But remember, they’re strong little things. Plus getting exposed to stuff strengthens their little immune systems. I was worried about my baby picking up germs from her brothers and sister especially as I couldn’t breastfeed her but she’s been fine so far. Ask your pharmacist if you can use saline nasal spray to relieve any snuffles. I hope you’re both feeling better soon.

My DD had it at Christmas when she was 12 weeks. Well, same as you - rest of the house was positive and I didn't bother testing her as her symptoms were the same. She had one day of a high fever (I found suppositories more effective than Panadol) and then a snotty nose for a few days. Lots of milk (especially if you are breastfeeding) and cuddles.

Hope you both feel much better soon.

My 11 week old DD is currently on day 5 of Covid. I did test her to confirm (my 3 year old DS had it).

Only symptom has been a few coughs and sneezes and a stuffy nose the last 2 days. No temp, been happy, eating well and sleeping well. She was much more poorly with a random cold she caught from DS and from her 8 week jabs.

My friends 1 week old did, he was sneezing & grumpy for 2 days then seemed better v quickly (his mum took 2 weeks)

Try not to worry x

I just tested positive and I feel rubbish. I have a 2 week old baby who has been sneezing all day and now she seems to have a bit of a cough. No fever yet. I am so worried about her, poor thing. There is nothing I can give her as she is so young ☹️😥

I had Covid two weeks after giving birth and my baby got some cold symptoms but not badly and they disappeared quickly. If you're vaccinated he will already have the antibodies and if you're not but you're breastfeeding he will be getting the antibodies your body is making now.

I am vaccinated and I am breastfeeding as well so hopefully she will be okay.

My now 3 month old had covid as a newborn and was absolutely fine. I'm not bothered about covid but was worried about how he would manage but he was absolutely fine. I would have just thought it was a cold if the rest of the household hadn't tested positive. Hope you both feel better soon.
