Has anyone gained their sense of smell back post covid?

I had covid when I was 7 months pregnant last year and still haven't fully regained my sense of smell back. All of my favourite foods and perfumes smell off to me and the thing that upsets me the most is that I still don't know how my 5 month old baby naturally smells (I get often told by anyone that holds him how they love the way he smells, I use fragrance free baby products on him so I'm sure it has nothing to do with that). Even the usual fragrances & cologne that my dh usually wears (which I normally love) smell cheap and off putting. In the beginning everything around me smelled the same way, I would describe it as a full bin/garbage type of smell. I can't recall the last time I fully enjoyed a home cooked meal or take away food. There are a few things that I'm able to distinguish though (e.g. fresh coriander, pepper, coconut, cheese, bleach) but it's very faint. Could you please share some of your experiences? Have you or anyone else you know regained their sense of smell at all post covid??

Nope I havent. I clean in the mornings and ran out of a certain product and was told yesterday that I cant use that one smell it it's too strong I smelled nothing
This is an ongoing issue for me not regaining my sense of smell since covid and I had covid last November
My taste is very very slowly coming back thankfully

Yeah, I had Covid in August, completely lost my sense of smell and taste but it returned fully after a couple of months.

Had it in September. Can’t smell very much at all but taste is coming back.

I had covid last September. Completely lost my sense of smell and taste and it hasn’t really come back since. My taste is better than my smell but I can generally either smell nothing or I smell cigarette smoke with a bit of muted or wrong smelling things inbetween.

Fruit flavoured/scented things smell and taste horrible, strawberry milkshakes, handwash, I haven’t worn my favourite perfume since as it smells off to me. I can’t tell if I smell either which is horrible. We moved house at the end of last year and I couldn’t tell you what my house actually smells like.

The near constant cigarette smell is the worst though, like sitting in a smoking room with people puffing away 24/7

I'm the same. Had covid last summer
Lost taste and smell. Taste came back quickly(thankfully ).smell still isnt right!!
Things either smell off, or I can hardly smell them.
I have to put things right up to my nose to smell them. It's very weird.
Things like candles and perfume smell funny , like 'eggy '.
I still use them/wear them as I know that they actually smell lovely IYSWIM.

Had it in September and can taste now but smell very little. It’s bloody awful isn’t it. Apparently some people have success with smell training and red light therapy. I’m gonna go to the GP and start complaining for some treatment I think.

Lost smell for a couple of days, sniffed a LOT of essential oils and took a lot of zinc. It was awful without sense of smell, like living in 2D even though I had other awful symptoms like dizziness and migraines.

I had covid in October and my taste/smell are only now just starting to gradually come back.

I second the constant ‘decomposing rubbish’ smell. It’s really upset me, I’m hoping it does eventually go away.

Also, anything with what I’m assuming must be the same chemical in it smells absolutely vile, toothpaste is the worst!

Apparently sniffing fresh ground coffee can help improve sense of smell.
Mine has improved but nothing like as good as it was pre-covid. must go back to sniffing coffee!

Should add I had covid beginning of January.
