Recommendations for face masks for kids

We're off to the US for a family wedding over Easter and mask mandates are still in place there and for the return flights. DS is 5 and has never had to wear a mask here - does anyone have any recommendations for masks for that age (he is on the big side so something for a 7 year old is probably what we're looking for) that will be acceptable in the US? It's such a long flight I can see we're going to have fun keeping him wearing it.... Thanks!

My kids all have buffs as they find them more comfortable. I'm not 100% sure they would be permitted on a flight, although I can't see why not.

I bought a few different ones for a similar trip at Christmas so it was a bit trial and error. For my 7 year old, the disposable kids masks (size is 5.5 inches I think) worked best. They were a bit big but I tied a knot on the straps to make them smaller.

For my 4 year old, the only masks that really fit were the ones from Smiggle. They also have toggles on the straps so that you can adjust the size.

Good luck with the flight. My DC were brilliant with the masks having not really worn them before. In fact I think they complained less than me!

Thanks WeDontShutUpAboutBruno I hadn't heard of them. One of these?

Thanks ricepops I will have a look at Smuggle. Did you buy any particular brand of disposable masks? I think you're right, we need to get a few options and see what works. Fingers crossed the excitement of the flight will distract DS from the discomfort!

Like these you get multipacks from amazon or ebay quite cheaply. They are worn around the neck and pulled up when you need a mask.

I think I just googled children's disposable masks, but I can't quite remember where they were from, sorry. I think most masks which say they are for children are 5.5 inches wide though.

Thanks both - that gives me a place to start! Smile
