Tonsilitis or covid, faint lft

I had a GP appt today because of tonsilitis, I have white pus all over my very swollen tonsils, horrendous flu symptoms and a temperature.

GP asked me to do an lft but she did prescribe antibiotics too.

I have this result, I've been for a PCR but won't know the results yet.

I'm off work (student nurse on placement) they want me in ASAP (I'm not even included in the staffing numbers)

I'm really unwell looking after two kids under 2 with chickenpox.

Has anyone had tonsilitis that turned out to be covid? I'm not even coughing, just swollen glands and major flu symptoms

That's a positive test. When I had Covid I had the sorest throat I've ever experienced (and I got my tonsils removed as an adult because I had such awful recurring tonsilitis).

@TheUsualShitshow me too ;( I am currently experiencing the worst sore throat and have done for 6 days (due to COVID). It seems to be getting worse but better! How long did you have the sore throat for? Thank you

OP, I don't have tonsils so no white spots. But very poorly with a sore throat. Feel like swallowing glass. Hope you get well soon

I definitely had a sore throat the full ten days, and then still had quite a gross cough for another 1-2 weeks.

I must have eaten about 100 Jakeman's throat sweets, they helped SO much.

Thanks @TheUsualShitshow yeah it's crap! Having my tonsils out was awful as an adult (the recovery), but I haven't had sore throats in ages. This one is awful and making up for it!!

That's how mine appeared and I'd had a bad throat for 4 days before the positive.
