Has anyone actually tested negative on day 5 /6?

I started to get symptoms last Thursday and tested positive on Friday,

I was hoping I'd be ok to go back to work today but still testing positive, I'm hearing people still test positive a month later! I'm so confused with all the rules now, I mean I know we don't have to test at all anymore but I'm trying to do the right thing and self isolate etc etc.
I know we can get back to normal after day 5 if negative, but is this ever possible?

I technically did, but I think the original test day was probably day 2, if that makes any sense.

Just tested my day 6 DS. Still a line......no return to school yet!! He's back to normal apart from a bit of a snotty nose. I am 2 days behind and won't be anywhere near early release 😬😬😬

I have just tested on day 6, although looking back I had symptoms a good few days before and was testing negative. The line is stronger now than it was on day one,🧐although I am feeling ‘better’. Tend to have a burst of energy for a couple of hours when I wake up then back lying down for the rest of the day. It seems extra galling when the sun is out
I am fed up with this.

I was negative on day 6 but also it took 5 days to initially show up after my exposure, so not sure if that’s anything to do with it

Dd was negative by day 5 when she had covid for the second time recently. The first time (December) she had a line on day 10 and beyond. Bizarrely the first time she had no symptoms at all but tested paotobe after me and dp had it and had a line for a while, the second time she caught it from school and had symptoms (albeit mild) and was negative by day 5 &6. So symptoms are not an indicator in many cases.

Mightily pissed off- so my day 6 test was positive. I thought I had three more tests- but no dd(18) has used 2 fluid vials from my kit for her own test kit. Government site has run out as has the chemists. What am I supposed to do now? Just go out when I feel well enough regardless? I have one test left now.

OrlandointheWilderness · 17/03/2022 16:35

Day 5 today still positive.

Phillipa12 · 17/03/2022 16:39

Both myself and dc3 have tested negative on days 5 and 6. In fairness on a scale of 1-10, 10 being covid requiring a hospital stay, I was around a 1.5 and dc3 about the same.

Try ordering them early in the morning, I got some that way.

I tested negative on day 5, 6 and 7. I had no symptoms. Only tested because DH was positive.

newbiename · 17/03/2022 16:48

Yes I did. Positive Monday , negative Saturday

WaltzingToWalsingham · 17/03/2022 16:52

I tested negative on days 5 & 6, but it was the second time I'd had covid and it was very mild for me.

cliffdiver · 17/03/2022 19:14

DD1 did, and DD2 did the first time she had COVID (second time was day 6).

libby09 · 17/03/2022 20:54

I'm negative on day 5 (today) but this is my second time and very mild symptoms.
