Going on holiday in 10 days and just had to do pcr

Very faint positive on LFT. Not feeling great but then on period so 🤷 . Just done a Pcr. I'm due to go away in 10 days to a country that needs a pcr so that's booked for 8 days time. Please god let me be negative !

Fingers crossed for you.

Do check any documents with the country you're going to to see if they have any rules regarding how long you need to be between being positive and arriving though.

Did you have a pcr? Or just an lft? If lft did you report it?

ImaniMumsnet · 12/03/2022 18:54

Hi OP,

We are going to move this to. the COVID topic for you so its easier to find.

TypicallyTopically · 12/03/2022 19:24

The lft was very faint. I just feel hot that's all. I've had a faint lft before and pcr negative.

OP posts:
Watapalava · 12/03/2022 19:37

where are you going?

TypicallyTopically · 12/03/2022 19:38

I don't want to say as outing if that's OK.

OP posts:
Watapalava · 12/03/2022 19:39

ok- only asking as if they also accept lft, you'd have been better not having the pcr and doing an lft for entry- that way even if lft positive now, you could have got a fit to fly via an lft

ReadyToMoveIt · 12/03/2022 19:40

A lot of countries specify that there must be at least 14 days since a positive PCR before you can enter so I’d just check that OP.

TypicallyTopically · 12/03/2022 19:41

I'd need a pcr anyway to go to this country

Kitkat151 · 12/03/2022 19:49

You would probably have been better of not having a pcr until the very last .....at least it may have then been negative

TypicallyTopically · 12/03/2022 19:51

I know but I've done it now

OP posts:
Kitkat151 · 12/03/2022 20:01

😳 I don’t fancy your chances....my line was very faint...but was positive.....good luck

TypicallyTopically · 12/03/2022 20:02

In the worlds of the legendary Cher....’if I could turn back time’ 🎶 🎵

It’s not positive TIL it’s positive OP ..... 🍀

TypicallyTopically · 12/03/2022 20:14

God I hope they lose the pcr

OP posts:
Kitkat151 · 12/03/2022 20:18

If you think on OP ...give an update when you find out.... and I honestly hope you get to go ....I know it’s not the end of the world and worse shit is happening....but still a real bummer for you

hulahoopqueen · 12/03/2022 20:19

I tested positive on Sunday (symptoms only came on around 5pm) and was negative again by Friday morning so I would live in hope OP!

TypicallyTopically · 12/03/2022 20:25

My lft is now negative

Sausagis · 12/03/2022 22:03

Omicron lurks at the back of the throat more than up your nose, at least early on. For a slightly more accurate lateral flow swab your throat and one nostril. I read this online and tested it when I got a VERY faint (is it/isn't it) line. I got a strong positive and later definitely had Covid.

Of course that assumes you want to know Smile

TypicallyTopically · 12/03/2022 22:15

Done that. Holiday appears to be cancelled doesn't it

Muchtoomuchtodo · 13/03/2022 10:08

Some countries are relaxing their rules soon, bu unless you say where your destination is this is a pretty pointless thread!

Winday · 13/03/2022 10:34

Fingers crossed you've had a false positive. My son had that happen once.

My first positive LFT was barely there, I doubt anyone else wouldve seen it but me, but it was a strong positive the next morning. How are things looking today? If it's still negative on the LFT I would keep hoping you'll get away on holiday.

TypicallyTopically · 13/03/2022 12:04

Negative pcr!!!!!

Birgitz · 13/03/2022 12:15

TypicallyTopically · 13/03/2022 13:04

I've had a false positive before and had to have a pcr that was negative !
