If you’ve had covid and used a lateral flow, how many days into the week did it take to show a positive.
I’ve had poss covid symptoms since Weds night - all lft negative (3 nhs ones so throat and nose), went for pcr today anyway.
Dh’s was neg on day 1 then he had positive pcr on day 2 so didn’t test in lateral until day 4 to see if it showed and it was so strong (this was a few weeks ago, I didn’t get it off him).

I had cold like symptoms on Sunday, tested neg on Mon and assumed it was a cold, then was dizzy in the night on Tues and tested positive on LFT on Wed morning.

I tested positive today, symptoms since Tuesday (negative tests each day). Likely contact on Sat night.

Sunflowerx · 11/03/2022 09:59

Cold symptoms on Monday, tested twice daily until finally testing positive Thursday morning! I went the cinema on Friday surrounded by coughers so I feel like that's where I've picked it up!

Can only answer for my children but DD tested positive day before she got symptoms and DS day after ( though we didn't test him on day if symptoms so may well have then).

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 11/03/2022 10:47

Had cold symptoms 2 weeks ago. Tested negative every day...it was a cold

I've been a bit rough for over a week, all negatives. (Not standard covid symptoms) then this morning two of my kids and I are positive
Youngest no symptoms and oldest feeling a bit rough

EatYourFive · 11/03/2022 11:02

My eldest started feeling rough (sore stomach, nausea) Thursday evening last week. She tested negative all weekend and was feeling fine by Monday. Tuesday morning she had a tiny sniffle and did one more test - a big fat positive. My youngest started feeling ill on Wednesday night this week but still testing negative, and I also feel rough but testing negative. Have booked a PCR for us for later today.

SatinHeart · 11/03/2022 11:50

I got a (very) positive lft the same day symptoms started.

SwankyPants · 11/03/2022 12:06

I've had symptoms since the end of Feb. Negative lfts.
Still no improvement in how I'm feeling do booked a pcr which came back positive yesterday. Still getting negative lfts

JustDanceAddict · 11/03/2022 12:29

It all seems so random! I see pcr as ‘gold standard’ so have to hope it’s negative from today.
It’s weird how someone can have a positive lft w no symptoms and you can have obvious ones and be negative. 🤷‍♀️

I tested positive as soon as I showed any symptoms at all - tested 3 days after exposure. Still a strong positive on days 5, 6 and 7 post-exposure. Mild positives days 9 and 10. Negative on release day morning. Never felt particularly ill and never felt fatigued, so duration of testing positive and severity of symptoms appear to me to be unrelated. Never got a cough, never got a temperature, never lost taste or smell. The most defining feature was the runny, tingly nose and snot that never got thick - stayed runny and would come and go, so could still breathe easily through my nose, which is absolutely nothing like my normal reaction to colds, which normally result in huge quantities of increasingly thick mucous that hangs around for weeks afterwards… Also, covid gave me an acidic feeling at the top of my stomach and an incredibly mild sore throat with a tiny, weeny gland that would pop up for an hour or two a day for about 3 days, in my neck.
