I felt horrendous last night and put it down to overwork.
Did a test and I have coronavirus. Today is my day off and I'm sure I can't work a 12 hr day Tue and weds I'm off thur Fri.
I know we are extremely short staffed and the last time I was off was 2019.
I've just got a feeling my boss will not take it well.
Anyone else had the 5 days off.?

By saying 5 days isn't in the rules Anymore.
Where I work people go in when they are ill we all do normally.
Maybe I read it wrong or took it the wrong way.

Maybe they were just letting you know you didn't have to take the time off if you felt well enough to come in therefore not using AL or sick pay, its not like they've insisted you come in even though you feel unwell

I got told wear a mask.
Took today off. Tomorrow is scheduled off. Must be back in Thursday due to no cover and boss has big meeting. So if I don't go in we cannot trade. I work in a shop.

I remember articles about how Covid had changed presenteeism and expectations of employers when employees are I’ll.
For some going back to what it was before.

I’ve had all my vaccinations and still been really ill. I had 10 days off and really needed all of that. I feel for people being rushed back when they aren’t well.

I had 7 weeks off sick followed by a phased return to work.

If you're ill then you're ill. I had Covid last summer so the first 10 days were covered by the isolation period and I then had to get signed off by my GP.

GP was very firm that I needed to be off to recover. I had a chest infection, then a kidney infection and an awful cough which lasted ages.

The best thing you can do now is to rest as much as possible to get better and if you need time off, take it. Better have the time now than go back too soon and potentially make yourself worse and be off longer.
