Could I have passed in on the day after exposure?

Saw my brother yesterday for about 3 hours, he texted to say he's positive today. I visited my in laws today though 🤦‍♀️, could I have given it to them? Currently negative. 🤞

No. They are safe, from you passing it on. Your body hasn't had time for the virus to replicate enough to be passed on. And you may not get it at all.

I kissed my son on the forehead last Tuesday as he was feeling unwell. He tested positive later that day, I didn't get it.

Thanks for your reply, makes sense I just went into a real blind panic when I got the message! I would be ok if I test positive just don't want to infect others. I'll be super careful this week and keep testing. Stressful isn't it?

I would say unlikely just a day after exposure with negative test. Dp had contact with someone displaying symptoms but hadn't tested on a Wednesday. Dp tested negative Thursday, Friday and Saturday so carried on as usual. He tested positive on the Sunday but no one he came into contact with before testing positive caught it!
