Morally I think he should but legally he doesn't have to does he? I said he could probably go out to walk the dog etc but I would be actively avoiding people just because I'd feel awful passing it on. He can work from home and his workplace are pretty strict about it anyway so that's not an issue. But what is everyone else doing? He definitely feels better but obviously still carrying the virus.

Hello I’m on day 7 today (faint positive yesterday) VERY strong positive today, (if there is such a thing 🤷‍♀️), feeling absolutely fine.. so in a similar position - I’m going out walking our dog every morning for a long peaceful walk just to get some fresh air but not going to shops etc - also able to WFH

In England, legally self-isolation is no longer required for people with symptoms or positive tests. They are asking that people do stay home/away from people if they are positive or have symptoms but there is no legal requirement to do so.

rainbowunicorn · 05/03/2022 17:41

why does it matter what everyone else is doing? How likely do you honestly think it is that he will pass it on walking the dog?

audweb · 05/03/2022 17:43

Where is he? Scotland you have to still test day 6/7 and then if negative you can leave. So legally I’m currently still stuck in my house but in England I’d be allowed to leave.

Morally , unless he plans ok breathing in the face of everyone he meets , he should go about his business . Common sense went out the window long ago it seems

DistantSkye · 05/03/2022 18:57

I think it's fine to go out for a walk! The risk outside is negligible!

@audweb actually in Scotland you're not legally still stuck in your house! Isolation has only ever been advisory up here!

Meltinthemiddle · 06/03/2022 00:59

Yeah I see no issues going for a walk etc and avoiding people. I didn't really see issues before the rules changed if totally honest. I wonder if people are still going to the shops and carrying on as normal though because obviously soon we won't be testing and won't know any different.

Guidance is to isolate for 10 days, UNLESS 2 negative LFTS on day 5&6 then ok to go out from day 7 (or when have 2 consecutive LFTs)

Going for a walk while still contagious a grey area I suppose, going to work/shops (which I know you are not OP) seems v selfish

Dh still positive day 5 should he still isolate? I'm so confused 😬
