What do we think about them keep it unavailable for so long? Has anyone else had a read and seen things unexpected? They were sent to me this morning in a file, so I can't attach, but if anyone has a link to share, that would be helpful.

@saltedcaramel1
The pattern I am noticing is parents that are genuinely in search of information about other's experiences are open and respectful and inquisitive. Posts that are condescending and mildly hostile seem to regularly from people that are in favour of Covid jabs categorically and unwaveringly - why is that?

saltedcaramel1 · 05/10/2022 14:57

@peppathe3rd

You're spamming threads with dodgy links rather than asking genuine questions, which is why you're not getting a "open and inquisitive reply"

I also don't really understand - your child isn't being offered a coronavirus vaccine? You're about 18 months too late to the vaccine threads, which is why I guess you're ressurecting load of zombies.

@EcoTourist
Thank you very much for your comment. I have no agenda - just think information should be shared amongst caring parents who are simply trying to make the best decisions for their children. A person on a similar thread became quite hostile, which i find very odd and inappropriate. You are the only person so far to support my observation of the vitriol, and I am grateful. I feel this is a group of loving parents that truly value other's insights and experiences. The other user I mentioned apparently reported me to whomever one reports to at mumsnet as a disinformation proponent. I really hope I can continue to interact with this forum, as it has always felt like an invaluable resource on so many subjects. Thank you again!

Perhaps your idea that certain people are paid to post incendiary messages is correct... Would Mumsnet know about that? If true, that would explain the hostility and also jeopardise the trust one has in this excellent forum. Do you think anything could be done about that? I would never be presumptuous enough to advise on what other parents decide for their children. The sheer magnitude of that responsibility would be very wrong to assume in my opinion, and a similar sentiment is something I have noticed throughout the messages of anyone questioning this decision. On the contrary, the people who seem to push the shots seem to have no problem advising parents to sign their children up for 1, 2, 3, ... doses with equanimity. I wonder if they realise the weight of their words...

There does seem to be a disconnect between those seeking to share information and find out answer and a small group who are totally against that

Hopefully we will one day get to a point where things can be discussed sensibly without the automatic screams of antivax,

I have no idea where you're getting either of these things from @EcoTourist

I'm relatively up to date with the literature on coronvirus vaccines & COVID - this includes from groups who are studying aspects of side effects, and from group who continue to update whether it is worth offering vaccination to lower risk groups after assessing the cost:benefit ratio.

When you or someone makes a claim, I'll read the things you've linked and consider it with an open mind. Unfortunately, all the claims you're making are not backed up by robust evidence, which is why posters point this out.

No-one is screaming "antivax" at you - they're just explaining you are saying things that are not based in fact. This doesn't help anyone who has been vaccinated or is deciding whether to be vaccinated.

foliageeverywhere · 05/10/2022 19:22

Perhaps your idea that certain people are paid to post incendiary messages is correct...

It's also a bit odd - because the previous poster never actually said that, and the messages read like they were posted by the same person tbh.

Can someone explain this to me because I'm not sure I'm understanding correctly. Out of 270 pregnant women who had the vaccine, 23 had miscarriages/spontaneous abortions? That can't be right surely?

Where is the document?

leafyygreens · 05/10/2022 22:01

Linked in the thread back in March @SplashingMermaidSparkleTail. At the time many experts commented and explained why this data was reassuring.

If you take a sample of 10,000 people, and follow them up for 6 months, there will be things that happen to them. This includes car accidents, cancer diagnoses, suicides, miscarriages.

This is also true of 10,000 people that happened to be vaccinated.

Raw numbers are meaningless - you have to compare rates of these adverse events to rates of how often you'd expect them to happen in a comparable population. If no women miscarried that would be very suprising - you would expect it to be around 1 in 4 just like in normal life.

leafyygreens · 05/10/2022 22:02

I'm not sure why all these zombie threads are being reactivated at once, it's causing a lot of confusion..
