Depends on many factors. All my dc had covid in sept. Two were ill for a good 10 days. We’ve been exposed again and only one DC got it and testing negative at day 6 and 7.

Met a friend of a friend Recently who had a faint line who then tested negative on PCR within days so could join said friend on holiday. He was only positive on LFTs for a couple of days.

My physio apparently tested positive and his LFTs were bright for more than a week but was a symptomatic!

Hope you get out quickly

My mum tested positive on a Friday and was negative by Wednesday. She may of been negative sooner but she didn’t check before day 5.

I only tested positive for 5 days, but I have had Covid previously.

Yes I didn't check before day 5 either ad I didn't think there was any point. So could have been negative sooner I suppose.

I tested positive on PCR last Weds because DH was already positive and I had a scratchy throat. Was testing negative on LFTs right up until this Monday. Now they are positive too and are showing no sign of fading at all. Mild cold like symptoms only.

My daughter only tested positive for 3 days and the only symptom she had was an headache for 1/2 an hour that's the only reason I tested her

dementedma · 23/02/2022 19:41

11 days for dh!

17yo DS only tested positive for 5 days. He was testing every day (before and after those days) as I was positive at the time. I was positive for 11 days!

HarrietSchulenberg · 23/02/2022 20:17

14yo ds3 tested positive for 4 days, no symptoms.
19yo ds2 tested positive for 4 days, weak symptoms (bit tired and a headache) on day 2.
51yo me and 31yo ds1 tested negative throughout and had no symptoms.
All shared a 3 bed terrace with minimal isolating but windows open in daytime.

Son was only positive for 2 days. His was a faint lateral flow first, so next day checked again to see if it would be dark and it was. Third day was negative.
I also was positive for 2-3 days only, but the rest of family were strong positives for 8 days at least before they started to get fainter.

AyeEee123 · 23/02/2022 22:37

My son was only positive for 2 days. He tests regularly for work so we know it wasn’t longer.

clareth · 23/02/2022 22:53

Yes me. Strong positive first day, faint line day 2 and couldn’t see anything at all on days 3,4,5,6,7. All very weird, barely a symptom at the time but was left with a cough that lingered for 3 weeks. Hope you are ok and test negative again soon

user94747295 · 24/02/2022 09:30

Thank you everyone. My second day today and the line is slightly fainter. These replies have made me feel more optimistic Smile

I got a positive test on last Wednesday and still positive today, are you still contagious at this point? I’m not sure what to do if still testing positive at the weekend?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 24/02/2022 09:35

Friend tested positive Wednesday, had a headache on Thursday and was neg on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. She didn’t test on the Thursday.

User1isnotavailable · 25/02/2022 13:37

I was positive with a very faint line one day and negative the next and then a couple of days later (after testing numerous times) had another very faint positive line, then nothing again. The viral load for me must have been very low. I'm CEV and was told it would be dreadful for me to get it. Strange how what you are told by a specialist and doctor and how it pans out can be vastly different. It shows that they don't really know.

TheKeatingFive · 26/02/2022 12:28

I was only positive for 4 days, but that could have been less (I didn't test earlier). I had very minimal symptoms, presumably due to a low viral load.
