Those recovering from covid…do you feel emotional?

I’m about 17 days since my positive test and as well as feeling hugely fatigued from around lunchtime onwards, my legs feel like lead. But I’m also emotional a lot. I thought it was hormones in the lead up to my period, but my period arrived and I’m still feeling the same, so I’m wondering if there’s an element of post covid stuff at play here.

I am on day 12 and very tired and emotional with anxiety thrown in the mix. I am hoping this doesn't last too long.

Petrolblues · 22/02/2022 16:52

The only way I can describe the feeling is when I used to feel very hungover on a Sunday afternoon after a heavy night on the Saturday. And I felt very tearful and anxious with it.

I had covid in October and felt this way.

pickingdaisies · 22/02/2022 16:57

I've got the heavy tired feeling - not feeling emotional but I'm not quite two weeks in. It's a known effect of viral infections like flu though, I've had it before, and many friends too.

CovidCurious · 22/02/2022 17:56

Yes, I felt tearful.

Covidwoes · 23/02/2022 21:18

I still am nearly 4 weeks later. I can't shift it. Sad

FizzyBizz · 23/02/2022 21:20

I felt weirdly tearful and emotional after testing positive and then for about a month or so afterwards.

It’s been 7 weeks now and I still feel exhausted. So bored of the fatigue!

MrsR87 · 23/02/2022 21:22

Yes but I’m also pregnant so no idea how
much to attribute to post Covid and how much to pregnancy hormones.

BrianWankum · 23/02/2022 21:27

I was really weepy while I had it. Seem ok now though.

I feel a bit down but not overly emotional. But so tired! 16 days since testing positive and I am knackered. It's driving me nuts. I manage to do about 2-3 things a day, nothing more. Luckily work is very quiet right now but it gets very busy next week and I'm already wondering how I'll stay focused.
Just restarted gym classes after two weeks off, because I'm so sick of feeling flabby and feeble but today's class wiped me out for the rest of the day.

My 10 year old DD has been v tired and b emotional since having covid a few weeks ago (she was properly flu like with it rather than just mild symptoms).

SugarAndCoffee · 24/02/2022 09:10

I felt like that on what looking back was day 1. Then it eased off but comes back every now and again.

OhNoItGotMeToo · 24/02/2022 10:37

Exactly how I feel. Covid wasn't too bad, but the fatigue, brain fog and emotions now are really challenging. Day 18 today for me and tested negative from day 11.

ODFOx · 24/02/2022 10:41

2 months later and I'm still sleeping more than half the time and wept yesterday when my biro ran out during a Teams meeting. It is ridiculous.
I barely sniffled when I actually had COVID.
