My 6 year old ended his 10 days isolation last Monday, 14th Feb (his birthday!) Apart from a headache and slight temperature (38.8) on Day 0 he was fine throughout but didn't get negative LDT until day 9&10.
This afternoon he's been off colour and I've just taken his temperature and it was 39.9, highest I've ever seen it. He's had calpol and is now asleep in bed.
Is this most likely to be a) a new bug, b) some kind of post-covid thing or c) could he have caught it again so quickly? It was his party on Friday (2 days ago) and despite only inviting 4 friends (and having postponed it a week due to his isolation), one of them tested positive yesterday. He hasn't seen this friend for weeks so she hasn't caught it from him, so I guess could be a different variant.
I'll obviously treat him according to symptoms, just wondering if this is yet another bug (he had a stomach bug two weeks prior to covid), or if it's something that can happen soon after covid recovery?
