See Most people ok now haven’t stopped testing or isolating. Guess it depends on who you hang out with[/quote]
It’s nothing to do with who people ‘hang around with’ and a lot to do with the need to feed children. DH had Covid symptoms but hasn’t tested. He doesn’t get sick pay as a contractor and we still need to pay our mortgage and buy food. We have no choice.

@nordica

It's changing from law to guidance. Why do you need the government to tell you it's not a great idea to go around spreading what is still a nasty virus for many?
For starters, I imagine employers will start asking people to come back in if not unwell. Calling in sick when not actually too unwell to work isn’t something that would have been seen as acceptable anywhere I’ve worked. I worked from home 5 days last week because I had covid. This is directly against company rules that we have to be in the office at least 2 days a week. Obviously covid law overruled that, but once it changes, if someone isn’t ill (as I wasn’t) then they’d just be ignoring a specific workplace request by staying home. And I doubt it would be tolerated to say “I’m not ill, but no, I’m not coming in.”
