Do LFTs gradually fade? Or just go negative?

As the title says really….

DH day 6, I’m day 5…. Still strong positives. Will they gradually fade over time and eventually be negative or can it happen quite suddenly?

I know it could take ages and could still be positive by day 10 and beyond….. I’m clutching at straws 😆

Hi OP. I have a very small sample size of two for you. This week, my son's blazing positive on day 6 went to completely nothing on day 7. I did two tests just to make sure as I thought I must have not swabbed him properly. Both the day 7 and day 8 tests were completely blank.

My positive test has faded very gradually and will probably be negative tomorrow (day 10 for me).

All in all, no help to you I'm afraid! Best of luck for a quick recovery.

Could be either. But most likely you'd get a light positive one day and then a negative the next.

Thanks for the answers and encouraging to see that it COULD happen.

Getting a bit frustrated by the multiple isolations between us all and really really hoping I can work next week. But we’ll see I guess.

Grateful we’re not suffering like some people have so keep reminding myself that the inconvenience is a minor thing.
