Obviously we are doing it when asked but it just seems constant recently. Up until Christmas my older 2 dc were doing them twice a week for secondary school and 2 of my dc had had 2 pcr tests each for what turned out to be colds. Then we spent most of January this year with everyone testing daily because first there was an outbreak of covid in the primary school so we were asked to do daily testing, then dc3 got covid so we all had to test daily for a week. Dc1 and dc2 were getting emails every few days saying they were close contacts through school so had to test daily for 7 days each time. Then we had a couple of weeks where it all calmed down and we were just testing twice a week. Now dc2 is a close contact again so he has to test daily.

I know it's necessary but I'm just sick of it. 2 of my dc have autism so testing usually involves a screaming meltdown from 1 child, nervous twitching from the other and a general whinge from the dc who are not autistic but are understandably fed up with the whole thing.

I've never done one.

Auntycorruption · 18/02/2022 18:02

I haven't done one in months.

I thought about it today, but then no one is ill so I'd rather not take the risk of ruining half term thanks!

Milliways · 18/02/2022 18:15

Daily as work in NHS

User639710 · 18/02/2022 18:59

Never

StCharlotte · 18/02/2022 19:04

I've been doing them all this week as my boss tested positive at the end of last week.

(Incidentally he is in his 60s, diabetic, has COPD and smokes - he's sailed through it)

Sarahbeeney · 18/02/2022 20:56

I have to do one to get into my work building (theatre). So next week it will be 6 times.

fallingfrog · 18/02/2022 22:45

BuffaloHigh, no I've not been contacted by T&T. Except once when I took a flight but I had to get a PCR after returning to the UK anyway.

Chishnfips · 18/02/2022 22:46

Never had a test.

Lovemydoggie · 18/02/2022 22:51

Before every shift. I work in a care home. All visitors have to take one and register before visiting .

elliejjtiny · 19/02/2022 20:30

Thankyou everyone. Seems like it really varies.

I'm not testing at all, did a couple of times last year but that's it.

0pheliaBaIIs · 21/02/2022 08:00

Daily. I'm on immunosuppressant medication for an autoimmune disease though.

BestKnitterInScotland · 21/02/2022 08:13

Nobody in this house is testing. DD had covid before Christmas and we were all sent for PCR testing and nobody's tested since.

Did you know we are spending £2 billion a month on all this testing?

GeneLovesJezebel · 21/02/2022 08:15

Once a week for work. Hopefully that will stop soon too.

Hermanfromguesswho · 21/02/2022 08:16

I work in a school so officially twice a week as per policy but there has so often been a child positive that I’ve been close contact with that I’ve been daily testing more often than not. On half term this week and I’m not testing. Bliss

zen1 · 21/02/2022 08:20

We don’t test unless someone in the family develops symptoms and has been in close contact with someone who’s been diagnosed. My DC are on the autistic spectrum and I’m not going to stress them out further by doing speculative LFTs.

crosbystillsandmash · 21/02/2022 08:21

I'm meant to test twice a week for work but generally I'm now only testing if I feel unwell or have been in close contact with someone with covid.

Entire family has had it recently so I'm trying to have a break from all the constant testing and worrying!!

MajorCarolDanvers · 21/02/2022 08:22

Only if we think we've been in close contact so not very often.

I don't do my kids though as it cause one nosebleeds and the other is too young.

ollehto · 21/02/2022 08:30

Every time I go into work. So, once or twice a week.
