What’s happening with care home staff after the 24th?

We’re now LFD testing before every shift instead of the weekly PCR test.

What is happening if we test positive? News says everyone can still go to work.

Obviously different rules for care staff (I assume) - however, sick days are counted as a MASSIVE strike against our names in the company I work for.

I’ve been Googling but can’t find anything.

No one knows!

It does look that way, doesn’t it? I can’t find anything.

I also can’t see many care companies paying for boxes of tests. They’re notoriously tight.

Govt dropping free LFT supply for universities, announced today - the first move...

Flev · 17/02/2022 19:09

Based on past experience the government guidelines for care homes will arrive at 5.45pm on a Friday evening 3 days after the headlines were announced and less than 24 hrs before it needs to be implemented.

I work in dom care
No more weekly PCR tests, just the daily LTF....if positive we are expected to isolate but I would be paid
Have been provided with 4 boxes of LTF
I don't find the LTFs v reliable and think it's bonkers.
You can find all the info on the gov website, I read it last week
It is all just guidance tho so not mandatory

Those who have contracts with local authorities may receive supplies from them in some areas. I have no idea how the practicalities are being addressed though.
