Sore chest and shortness of breath

I'm on day 5 and this started yesterday. It's horrible. I feel like I can't catch my breath and someone is stamping on my chest... it doesn't feel like it's getting better at all, worse if anything. Every now and again I can get a deep breath but it's rare then I'm back to square one.

Has anyone else had this and it went away on its own? I'm wondering at what point to speak to the doctor.

I'm just sitting upright next to an open window for a bit of relief and taking paracetamol.

It's quite scary.. reassurance anyone ConfusedSad

Sounds like its time for a GP visit.

If this is difficult it may be good to buy a pulseoximeter (via internet). Then you know your oxygen saturation in your blood as well as heart rate. May even be handy to convince people at the GP that you need to be seen.

When you phone, make clear how you feel. If you are breathless when walking stars, if talking is difficult, quality of sleep etc

Wishing you all the best.

Yes I think you need to speak to someone. Day 5 can be crucial in terms of the disease progression.

I have Covid (again). I felt like this yesterday, as if I couldn't get a proper breath and my chest felt restricted. I feel better today although still a bit breathless overall. I am on day 5 too.

Thanks all, I got one of the oxygen monitors which helped with reassurance. Breathing is definitely easier today. I hope everyone is feeling ok

I had this when I had covid. I'm asthmatic but very mild usually so it took me by surprise. I spoke with my gp and was given a short course of steriods.

Definitely time to speak to you're gp , op , I hope you feel better soon.
