Been sent throat LFTs.

My dd currently has covid and there are 5 of us in the house, so in the last week I've ordered 2 packs of LFTs for us. They have sent the original ones that you have to test by scraping the back of the throat. I hate these. They make me gag every time. We haven't been sent these in months.

So, two questions. Firstly, have others also been sent the throat LFTs? Secondly, do they work if I just use them up my nose and ignore the throat bit?

Should add, we’ve only ever done the nose with the original style and they picked dd1 and dh’s positives up no problem.

My son had a faint positive on a Flowflex test this morning (we are daily testing as another member of the household has covid). Out of interest, I asked him to do one of the old style nose and throat tests and it was completely negative....

I'd either do it again now or get a PCR, my DS has had a few false positives on the flowflex ones (always very faint unlike DDs which was really solid). The last couple of times I got him to do the nose and throat ones to compare and that was negative.
