Positive lft but also waiting for pcr - Contact tracing

Hi all, ds had a positive lft so registered that. Dh works nhs and his trust ask that household members who have a positive lft get it confirmed by pcr. I'm putting this in the same scenario as if someone with a positive lft needed to claim the financial support payment - they also need to confirm with pcr.

Due to registering the positive lft, I got a message with a link to register contacts etc. Do I do it now or wait until the pcr comes back? There's a teeny chance the pcr will come back negative in which case the contact tracing will be pointless. Or do we just do the form and then if it comes back negative test and trace will recontact our contacts to to say it was a false alarm?! Tried to call 119 but they shut already and I was hoping to do the form tonight as for me, life goes on tomorrow and I have work

Ignore me. There's a section when booking pcr to say that you're confirming a lft. But I put that he has symptoms because after doing his lft and registering it, I asked him to take his temp and it was high. It'll all link up anyway won't it?

I have no idea tbh. We all have covid and I keep getting messages asking me about contact tracing as I've got them all sent to me. It's Chaos.

Chances are the PCR will also be positive as false-positive lfts are rare.

We did the contact tracing online form straightaway for DS and then we followed a few days later with positive PCRs. Thankfully T&T never phoned us(didn't fancy long calls repeating the same info).

Pcr came back positive within 12 hours of doing the test. Can't believe how fast! I reported lft on Monday evening and by 9am on Tuesday I was getting phone calls from test and trace. Got the results of pcr back at 9pm yesterday so shall wait and see if the calls start for a second time

Do they phone you even if you do the form online? Oh god I can't face being chased with phone calls today.

Madmog · 16/02/2022 08:05

No, just lots of email throughout my isolation.

Beth13579 · 16/02/2022 08:06

I just filled in the bare minimum for my form, only put DP and DD on it.
The handful of other people I had seen in the run up to falling ill, I phoned and told personally as I didn't want them to be harassed by T&T.
That said, all DP got as one of my "contacts" was a text message telling him to take a LFT test every day.

I didn't for DD though this was mid-January so they may have been a bit busy. It was annoying enough they sent me a message every couple of days reminding her she still had to isolate. That and getting a text and email telling me I was contact and to take daily tests even after I'd ticked the box saying I'd notify myself!
Penvelopey · 16/02/2022 09:03

@Jules912 yes I ticked that box. My poor family have been spammed with texts asking them to complete the same details over and over

Needadviceagain · 16/02/2022 09:54

I literally just listed my household on his online form. Do they called asking the same questions I'd already filled in. They acknowledged I'd already given them the info they were asking so no clue why they insisted on asking again. No calls so far this morning so hopefully that was it!
