Tested positive a week ago!
For the last days when I lay there in bed my head races like crazy! With totally bizarre and random worries and thoughts. It’s not like a normal racing mind like I’ve had before - it’s manic, totally wired..like I’ve been up all weekend taking speed! It’s really disturbing and at times scary. has anyone been effected this way after testing pos?

I found it difficult to sleep but I think it might have been because I’d been stuck at home for about ten days. I need a good couple of walks to sleep well at night.

I’m on day 9 now, I had mild symptoms but my sleep was terrible and I was waking at 3 AM unable to get back to sleep.

For the last couple of days I’ve been having the kind of thoughts you mention, too. I have anxiety issues generally but this is like you say, quite bizarre.

Yes I had this but also felt more ill at night. Both my kids 6 and 4 slept terribly. 6 year old who is usually an amazing 12 hour solid sleeper was up and down and reading/ pottering in the night despite feeling well. They are only just getting back on schedule and it was nearly 3 weeks ago. I think it must be a covid thing.

It's possibly also because you've been stuck indoors all day, same 4 walls, no exercise or fresh air, so you're probably not as tired as you would be normally and once you can't sleep your mind tends to race.

How long did it take to pass?

For me this improved after a week or so and the real fatigue kicked in, unfortunately.

I'm 8 weeks on from Covid, and my sleep is still shot to bits. I struggle to still my mind when I go to bed and cannot fall asleep again if I wake in the night. On the rare occasion I do manage to fall asleep again, my sleep is very light and any noise wakes me.

The only thing that helps me is distraction. I fall asleep far more quickly and easily if I'm listening to an audiobook or watching something non-exciting on TV. Not a good habit, but better than lying awake until godforsaken o'clock .

Despite having to stay in, I found I was more exhausted than usual and slept through really deeply, but only until about 5am when I was suddenly wide awake. Was able to go back to sleep after about ab hour for another hour but was then knackered when I woke up again!

Yes! I had this for about 2 weeks from testing positive, went back to work this week and now I’m absolutely exhausted and having to go to bed as soon as I get home!

I promise that the dreaded insomnia does go away after a few weeks! Then you sleep like a log. This was my experience anyway.
