Test and trace follow up to LFT test result

Hi all,

I've been ill since Monday with what I thought was a cold. I've not really been getting better and have been doing daily LFTs in case, and today is the first day I've tested positive.

I've reported the result of course, but wonder - do you then get contacted by Test & Trace to confirm isolation etc? My symptoms started last Monday so technically I'm day 5 today, but of course, the LFT has only shown positive today...

In my experience nobody phoned me. They sent me an email with a questionnaire thing for contacts and that was that. What was annoying was the texts and emails I got every single day

When I logged my positive LFT on the NHS system I was sent an email from T&T to sign in and fill out details of where I had been. It was much easier than doing it over the phone as I had to for Dd when she got it in Sept.

They may well have followed up by phone but I don't answer nonlocal numbers I don't know as my details were sold and I'm forever getting scam calls.

If you've registered the test then you probably will be contacted. It all depends what it's like in your local area.
I work for my local council for T&T for the local health board, which covers 3 local authorities. We do things a certain way, but others may do it differently. We would either phone you or send an sms with a link to an e form for you to complete your contacts/ symptoms, which we only usually do if we are really busy and case numbers are high.
It depends on what symptoms you've had as well, if it wasn't one of the main 3 then your isolation will start from your test date.

Thanks all. I've had an email questionnaire which I've now gone through and that's triggered my close contacts being notified.

I also don't answer any calls I don't recognise so unlikely to speak to anyone.

It's a good point about the symptom timing, too. Thank you!

I was called, emailed, text...it was bloody constant!

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 13/02/2022 12:14

I wonder how many people think the link is a scam? There's no way I'd put anyone's details into a link from an sms.

I received lots of emails but no calls. Have to say DH and myself felt so awful until day 6, I doubt we'd have answered the call (and I don't mean that ungratefully) - we had to speak to people when we were up to it, not when they called.

We had no calls at all. Just endless emails and texts…
