To start I am not anti vax at all! Had 2 x AZ and a Pfizer, all fine

2 weeks ago I had another Pfizer and a smear test on the same day. Spotted for the whole week. This week my period is due, I'm now 4 days late and have been spotting grim black brown for this week. Consistently have a 25/26 day cycle normally and now on day 30 no period

Do I do anything about it?! Smear test fine, recent swabs all fine Confused I don't know what's going on but I'm a bit sick of the spotting every single day

@teaandtoastwithmarmite did you get any further with this? I’m still spotting for anything from 7 days before my period is due. I’ve had a hysterscopy last month to check polyps etc and the said everything was good and now I’ve had the surgery and rejuvenated things I shouldn’t get the spotting but low and behold it’s appeared again! This is my first cycle since the surgery. So frustrating as I paid a lot of money and he was sure it would fix it.

@Loz2467 so sorry for late reply. Only just seen this post. I've been to a consultant today as my blood work showed high for CA125 which can be a cancer marker but it's related to my endometriosis (chocolate cysts). I had a scan and I have a polyp on the neck of my womb and one 9cm cyst on my left ovary and a 4cm one on my right. I had a laparoscopic procedure in 2019 to get rid of it all so I'm pretty shocked. The spotting has died down but I have quite a bit of pain, bloating and discomfort Sad

@bloodynewusernameagain don’t apologise at all! It’s completely different and wishing you a happy pregnancy! ! I’m just desperately trying to figure out what’s going wrong. Unless it is low progesterone even though my readings have usually been okay. Seems strange for the vaccine to still be impacting 12 months later?

Loz2467 · 23/06/2022 21:05

@teaandtoastwithmarmite I’m so sorry it sounds like you are going through the mill with trying to diagnose everything too! I have everything crossed they can treat you and it can ease some of the pain.

i know I’m thinking surely 12 months on from the vaccine shouldn’t be causing the spotting. I’m hoping the progesterone he’s given me to take after ovulation this month helps it. If not I’m stumped what to check next xx

@Loz2467 Yes, I agree, it seems strange that the vaccine would be affecting things that much later on.

This lancet article also seems to concur www.thelancet.com/article/S0140-6736(21)02282-0/fulltext

But I'd keep an eye out for any emerging data as the NHS can be a bit glacial pace publishing updates.....
Very best of luck to you 🍀

My cycles are only seeming to die down now - had the first two jabs near the start of the roll out of them, haven't had any boosters since them... had a near constant period for most of the last year - about 10-14 days long, with like 20 day cycles so really really fucking annoying and incredibly heavy - which I had never had before in my life (3-4 days max). The last few cycles have lengthened out a little bit and reduced slightly in length but it went on for a blooming long time.

Also have awful psoriasis on my hands ever since then, and awful joint aches - whatever didn't agree with the covid germs in the jab clearly didn't agree with me either (hence me resisting the boosters - I was going to apply for exemption if they'd rolled out the no jab no job because it really is getting me down and I didn't want to make it any worse). Reported it under the yellow card scheme but minimal chance of even seeing a GP here at the moment so just slogging on.

My periods stopped 5 years ago
They restarted within a couple of weeks of my 2nd jab last year and I'm still getting them now so I experience all the joys of being menopausal as well as heavy periods and PMT.

I'm 60 .....

The second dose of the covid vaccine made my period a week late. I don’t think it’s just the covid vaccine though, because I opted to have the HPV vaccine and that also delayed my period. I wonder if the timing of the vaccine administration during your cycle also has an effect.

Loz2467 · 04/10/2022 20:07

How is everyone doing on this thread? It’s been over 14 months since my last covid vaccine and I’m still spotting a whole week before my period and TTC 😞 I don’t know how much more I can take and I can’t understand why my body has reacted like this.
