This is an intelligent man who has been careful about following rules, and has been doing daily LFTs. Just realised while he was eating breakfast and said 'This doesn't taste of anything.' I said Shock and he said, 'Oh, the first time I noticed it was Wednesday when x didn't taste of anything.' He just hadn't connected the dots? Booking a PCR now before we go and spend a week with my elderly parents and diabetic SIL.

If he's doing daily lfts I can see how it can happen tbh! My brain wouldn't join the dots either if I was constantly negative, I wouldn't be looking out for symptoms.

It's completely understandable that he hasn't noticed. Some food is just bland and if he's eating because he's hungry and not savouring a tasty meal its not surprising that he hadn't put two and two together.

What a numpty Grin

If he is doing daily LFT then it should have picked it up so it isnt surprising that he didnt consider it.
Give the guy a break!

BrioLover · 11/02/2022 09:49

Oh no! And I can completely see how he didn't connect it as he had negative LFTs!

Good thing he did so you can test before seeing family though

Wizzbangfizz · 11/02/2022 09:51

What is the purpose of daily lft - is it a requirement for work?

riverpebbles · 11/02/2022 09:54

Oh, I know, I was thinking how hard it is to notice NOT tasting something in absence of other symptoms. But he did look very surprised when I said, 'Um you know that means you need a PCR?' We've both booed one now.

He's been taking daily LFTs because our dd had covid (came out of isolation a week ago) and our son was named a close contact a week ago. Precautionary really.

I was doing daily left because DH was positive and work asked me to. Wednesday morning I had a headache, left negative, so I did another of a different make, negative. Went to work but felt awful. Did a PCR in the afternoon, positive. Have been in bed since.

riverpebbles · 11/02/2022 10:03

Yeah, our dd's LFTs were negative but PCR was positive.
