My DD tested positive for Covid on 9th January. I was told by track and trace that she could have her second vaccine after 28 days had passed. She was due to have the vaccine at school today and was turned away and told no 12 weeks. So is it 28 days or 12 week? Ggrrr conflicting info! Thank you

It’s 12 weeks unless the child is vulnerable.

12 weeks for under 18s unless in a vulnerable category

It was 28 days then changed to 12 weeks. DS had his first one the week before October half term, just over 28 days after testing positive, the wait was increased to 12 weeks not long after.

The advice changed in November last year to minimise the chances of myocarditis in children

Thanks everyone. I will stop raging at school now 🤣. I'm not sure what the track and trace guy was talking about them.

For 12-18 year olds its 12 weeks after positive test

For 5-11 years its 28 days as its a lower amount they get it.

It has meant people get confused.

I think it's 12-15 year olds a gap of 12 weeks.
16+ it's 28 days
