Antiviral infusion, who’s had one?

My son started with cold symptoms and a cough on Thursday evening, he then tested positive on Friday morning. He was with my mum who is CEV on Wed evening as she was providing childcare whilst me and Dah were in work. My mum tested yesterday as she is a contact and has had a positive result. She’s going for the antiviral infusion this afternoon.

I’m really worried about my poor mum who spent so long shielding. She’s had a double transplant so is CEV and immunosuppressed. Was hoping someone on here has also tested positive as CEV and had the antivirals and can reassure me that they didn’t suffer too badly.
Feeling guilty DS passed it on to her, his LFT was negative before school on Wed morning.

There was a post on this last week, a few people have had the antiviral and said they felt a lot better the next day, but these people had symptoms. A couple of CEV people didn’t end up taking it as they felt ok. I think overall nobody was that ill, so there’s hope that your Mum will be ok.

My CEV DF had it with absolutely no side effects at all. He also had very few symptoms from the covid - goes to show the vaccine works!

I did try searching but couldn’t find anything posted previously. Will try again and see if I can find the previous thread.

My son has had the antibody infusion, he’s on the priority list due to having Down syndrome.

The system worked exactly as it should and he had no side effects from the infusion.
