Come out of isolation, but still testing strongly positive?

It's day 11, still have all the head cold type symptoms but no temperature. Been testing daily since day 5, all still a strong, clear positive. Am I definitely okay to come out of isolation since 10 full days have passed since start of symptoms (and positive test that day)? A household member is CEV and moved out while I was positive, we want them home but not if I could still be infectious.

watching this thread as also at day 11 and still strongly testing positive. Same with head cold symptoms still but no fever

Tim Spector of Zoe app study and another professor (Wendy Barclay?) discussed this point in a recent webinar. Basically the position is uncertain! Because of the way the tests work, it is possible to still test positive despite no longer being infectious, but it's not possible to rule out the possibility that you are still infectious. In your situation, I think it's worth the household member staying away a bit longer, particularly as you still have cold symptoms.

It's the webinar "Omicron: What does it mean for the future of Covid?" (on YouTube) if you want to listen to the discussion.

I would leave it a couple more days before your CEV family member comes back home, if it’s possible.

You're probably no longer infectious. But I'd probably wait another couple of days to see the CEV household member, just to be safe.

Simple answer is nobody really knows.

If they can stay away a bit longer then it’s probably best to remain cautious.

I wouldn't go near a cev family member in your situation to be honest.
