My son had a friend stay over after school on Monday; Tuesday evening I receive a text from the mum saying that the friend has tested positive for covid..

All our LFTs have since been negative. Have we escaped it?!

We can't tell you - do an LFT regularly. It can take days for symptoms to appear. 🙄

BettySundaes · 03/02/2022 16:06

You need to LFT for 7 days as per NHS guidance - Track & Trace should notify you of the dates.

Track & Trace should notify you of the dates.

I doubt if the Royal Mail will do this.

Mindymomo · 03/02/2022 16:42

3 days is still too soon, but fingers crossed you stay negative.

I tested positive 4 days after being in contact so you may yet get it, sorry.

MollyQueenOfSocks · 03/02/2022 18:10

My kids were in contact with someone on the Thursday and we didn't get positive LFT's until the Tuesday.

Fingers crossed you have avoided it. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

My DH had contact on 21st, tested positive 1 Feb (dropping a present off on doorstep for 5 mins!). The only person he's had any contact with less than 2m is me, so little chance he got it elsewhere. I've tested positive today, so clearly didn't pass it on. Really hope you escape it, but I'd continue to be cautious for 10/11 days judging by our experience.

No. You havent. It can take days for the lft to show anything

FergoMcFergFace · 03/02/2022 21:28

I tested positive on day seven, and that was from being in close contact with my son for a whole week. I actually had a negative on the morning, and tested positive three hours later after developing a tickly nose/throat.

🤞 you stay negative.

9 days since my son caught it we are in same household and escaped. I will stop testing after 10 days if no symptoms. I had the delta variant and also took 3 jabs, booster only 4/5 weeks ago.
